About the Author:

Maree Davenport is the former CEO, Chair and Director of Endometriosis Australia. She has been living with the impacts of endometriosis through her daughter, who started having symptoms aged 8, and works to raise awareness of this lifelong painful disease, which affects an estimated 1 in 7 Australians assigned female at birth. In 2024, her advocacy secured Federal Government funding, a 2-year EMBRACE partnership for in-kind advertising, news and research across Southern Cross Austereo media, along with partnerships with news outlets and outdoor advertisers. Maree is on the World Congress on Endometriosis Sydney 2025 organising committee.
