Ten Out by Ian Brayshaw

Ten Out pays homage to those who have taken all ten wickets in a first-class innings. Going right back to William Lillywhite, for his feat in 1837, all told there have been 90 occasions and 83 individuals who can take credit in the 252 years since William Lillywhite set the ball rolling in 1837. Roughly 90 times in some 200,000 innings. Ten Out is a fascinating journey through cricket’s development – over time and across continents, with many unusual and surprising stories to tell.

About the Author: Ian Brayshaw is a journalist and author of over 25 books on sport and sports heroes. He played cricket for Western Australia for over 17 years – in 1967 becoming only the third bowler in Sheffield Shield history to take all ten wickets in an innings. The feat has never been repeated since in Shield cricket. It was said by some at the time of his retirement in 1978 that Ian Brayshaw was the best player not to have played for Australia. Brayshaw was awarded an MBE for his services to sport.
